Shanghai’s achievements from constructing a smart city over the past five years are being exhibited at the Innovative Technology Pavilion of the 2018 China International Industry Fair yesterday.Shanghai showed its accomplishments which comprised three parts — “intelligent manufacturing,” “intelligent service” and “intelligent life” — at the central exhibition area of the CIIF which opened yesterday at Qingpu’s National Exhibition and Convention Center. They covered integrated circuits, industrial automation, cloud platforms and intelligent medical treatment.Yitu Technology, a Shanghai-based startup engaged in artificial intelligence and facial recognition, brought their intelligent products used in social security, medical treatment and financial services under the “intelligent service” segment.Yitu cooperates with police of nearly 30 regions and works with national frontier inspection departments and Customs on its intelligent system which has also been applied in local buses, airports, transport hubs, railway stations, Metro stations, exhibition centers, office buildings, hotels, shopping malls and communities. It’s hard not to get away from robots which are being used in different areas of our life.TMiRob, a local medical robot maker, displayed a robot serving patients in the wards or elderly in the nursing homes. The robot can take their temperature, blood pressure as well as providing remote video service on the screen for medical professionals and patients to contact each other. It can also help deliver medicines and interacts with the user through voice. This robot is now being used in a few local and provincial hospitals. The next generation of its robots will guide the patients to see a doctor, help them to register and accompany them to the right location.
